Playful Dogon

The mud villages of the Dogon tribe cling to the base of the Bandiagara Escarpment, with a toguna (meeting place of the elders) located at the head. Within this bizarre animistic culture and monotone, dusty desert environment, I was struck by the universal human actions of the playful children watched by a caring adult.
